Primetime Boxing Show .. Saturday June 5th 2009
The site was well situated with nicely set up tables & the crowd was so into supporting Primetime...what a pleasant atmosphere. Santo Chiappetta made an appearance & the coaches were in their best form from Derek Charbonneau, Brodie Boone, Lawrence Boom, Hank Boone, Bill Williams, Greg Post, Bobby Bland & of course Charles Biggs, Jay Davies & Emile Reed. What a good group. Everyone gets along so well & works to-gether. The night opened with Kaku Morimoto at 133 lbs from The Boxing Loft pitted against Old Schools Anthony Kuznik at 128 lbs. Kaku seemed to be the stronger but Anthony can move well & hit on the move from various angles. This was Kaku's last bout in Canada as he returned to his homeland, Japan, a few days later. Boones in Niagara Falls had their boxer Jason McMillan (The Mechanic) at 154 lbs battling to the roar of the crowd, Tyler Rivard from Boomerz in London at 159 lbs. Tyler is one tough dude but don't take anything away from Jason because he too is a tough dude. This will be a rematch in the future, I am sure. Troy Patterson from Loyalist in Belleville in the 145 lbs division boxed Blands Clark Fortuna in his debut. Put that head gear on & Fortuna looked like his father & uncle who were both good boxers back in the 80s (Ricky & Robbie Fortuna from Niagara Falls). Clark used the ring well & Troy stalked & these guys mixed it up well. T.J. Post, The chief from Primetime, with Greg, his father working his corner in the 166 division battled Jeremy The Cracker Masterson from Boomerz in London. Jeremy earned his name 'The Cracker' with his sharp crisp punches that should crack your jaw. T.J.'s jaw is almost iron. This bout was very close...Great bout guys! Kyle Murphy from Primetime in the 130 lb division challenged Derek Charbonneau from Golden Tiger in Hanover. Derek has a strong overhand right & Kyle made good use of avoiding it. These guys fought 3 tough non-stopping rounds. Good bout. Jay McCarthy at 148 from King St. in London had a bout with Sean Fraser formerly from Primetime & now with Golden Tiger. Again, lights, camera, action!!! Action you go. These guys really mixed it up & both gave great performances. Congrats, guys! Hey, when is the next one?
