Destiny Boxing Club in Kitchener hosted a terrific boxing night on Friday March 5th, 2010 to a full house. The place was rockin' the food was movin' the music was ok...rap is not my favorite but they played a variety so that was good. Opening at the bell were the ladies, Dana Watson from Black Eye in Brantford at 134 & Amanda Beaudin from Hamilton Boxing Club. Each gal used a series of combination, good head movement & quick responses in their scoring. Good bout. The 2nd round had Destiny's Dylan Bryson at 160 against Mike Malowaski from McEwan's Pro Street Gym, with Everton McEwan in the corner. This was a very interesting bout. The guys really worked hard for the win & the crowd roared them on. The 3rd bout had the ladies Jessica Camara from Destiny at 136 against Katie Lynch from Hamilton. Katie is a well seasoned boxer who is usually on the prowl against her opponent & Jessica showed good movement. . The 4th bout had Destiny's Joe Keta at 155 against Toronto Warriors, Marc Gatus in his first bout. This bout was very well matched. The 5th bout had Jennifer Fisher from Destiny at 137 against Patricia (Patty) Griffin from Hamilton. They refer to Patty as Machine Gun because of her non-stop punching. She just won't stop. Jen is a counter puncher who shows nice technical skills. The 6th bout had Shawn Murray from the home town against Sal Jassem in an exhibition bout when Shawn's opponent was a no show. The 7th bout featurued Alan Yescas from the host club in his debut against Damien Jean from Old School in Hamilton. The whole front row must have been Damien's family because they were just a hollerin fro Damien. The bout was 3 rounds & went well. The 8th bout featured 160 lbs Roberto Ortega from the home town against Jassem Jassem from Black Eye in Brantford. Ortega looked like an iron pusher as he battled the tall slim Jassem. The 9th bout had Santo Chiappetta from McEwan's in his 145 lbs bout against Hamilton's Brett Huffman. Again, the taller Brett kept the shorter Santo at bay with the constant long jabs. Santo is a good hitter & a real lion heart...must have been born a Leo, who just won't stop. It was a good bout. The 10th & final bout of the night had Lucas Rowe from the hometown at 145 lbs meeting 'Pacman', Marc Pagcaliwangan from Boomerz in London. A very nice display of technical skills with countering the counter puncher. Good bout to end the night. Thanks to Dr. Joe Falletta who worked ringside. Great job of course. .
