June 28th 2009 Boomerz / London

Hosting this great event was Lawrence Boom from Boomerz Boxing Club in London, Ontario. Naturally, he has his side-kicks who are always on hand to help. That would be Rob & Dez & the very good announcer Ben as well as Rose & the rest of the helpers who I don't know by name. It is great to have all these dedicated people ready to help.

The night opened with Annie Shannon from the host club against Tiffany Nugent from Warriors in London. Both ladies tipped the scale at 122 lbs. Some nice developing skills was shown by both ladies throughout the 3 rounds.

Lenny Cochrane at 168 from Boomerz fought Destiny's Shawn Murray from Kitchener. Each boxer threw some very accurate & point scoring power punches. Glad I wasn't on the receiving end.

Jay McCarthy from King Street in London fought a rematch against Todd Charlton of River City in Sarnia. This was a very close bout.

Joe Keta from Destiny in Kitchener challenged Jason McMillian from Boone's in Niagara Falls. Both game boxers. Joe tries every angle & Jason just keeps on coming.

Jeremy Masterson from Boomerz challenged T.J. Post from Primetime in Oakville. TJ is showing some very good power & nice combinations while Jeremy has the strength & stamina to keep to his pace.

Derek Charbonneau from Charbs in Hanover boxed 3 rounds against Jeremy Abbott from Boones in Niagara Falls. Derek is a constant gladiator & Jeremy has some good ring savvy.

Heather Stuart from Boomerz hit the scales to challenge Rita Lwanga from the Boxing Loft. Never blink when either of these gals are boxing. Heather is a good hitter with straight blows & Rita has dynamite defence & a chin of stone. They are both great to watch. Too bad there has to be a winner.

Scott Elliott from Primetime in Oakville weighed in around 200 lbs to challenge Charb's Bobby Sullivan. Both these boxers are very pleasant guys outside the ring; however; inside is theirs to conquer. Always a rematch possible. Both have good power & score proper scoring blows & have chins of iron.

Mike Ghafari from Boomerz challenged Dylan Krysko from Boone's in Niagara Falls to a real duel with the long straight punches from Krysko & the shorter but more experienced Ghafari using his skills to challenge on inside fighting. Good bout guys. This bout had everyone on the edge of their chairs.

The Main Bout really put the icing on the cake when hometown's 250 lb Adnan Shahkaram met James Moore from River City at ring center. The ring didn't waver as it held the 500 lbs of solid muscle when these big guys used every inch of the ring to conquer their opponent. Great bout to end a very entertaining show.

What's next Greg?
