Bland's Fort Erie, June 13th 2009 The first bout featured Chris Agostino from Blands the host club, who tipped the scales at 135 lbs against Belleville's challenger Eric Fletcher from the Loyalist club. What a great exciting match opening the show at the Ridgeway Community Centre. Great boxing & a real close bout with two tough guys. The 2nd bout was the heavies where Thomas Hadad from King Street in London boxed Stuart McQueen from Boomerz in London. They really rocked the ring with over 500 lbs of sweat, determination & boxing. The 3rd bout featured Sean Cosgrove from Black Eye Boxing in Brantford who tipped the scales at 165, against Pat Heenan representing Boomerz from London. This bout showed a lot of skill from both boxers as they used the ring well & threw nice straight scoring punches. No pitter patter punches here. The 4th bout featured two of the home town boxers, Dylan Cosby & Josh Gillion in the 178 lb division as they put on an exhibition of their boxing skills. The 5th bout featured hometown's Jason Pruyn, fast moving & quick handed against teammate, Brian Terreberry who is no slouch to the boxing game. Terreberry is a good hitter & is advancing very nicely. The main event featured Bland's Ricky Pacheco, at 128 lbs to match against Abdi Abdihalim from King Street in London. No one gave an inch. Abdi pressed while Ricky used his famed hit & run technique that works so well for him. All in all it was a good night for the locals & the boxers. |
