Friday fight nite, March 26, 2010 at Legion Branch 90, 21 Oak Street in Brantford, as the Black Eye Boxing Club hosted a great boxing show that was standing room only. The night opened with Dylan Good from Black Eye boxing a tough new kid, Joshua Patterson from Wolves Den in Hagersville. This was a stand up boxing event & the bout was action packed. The second bout featured Sal Jassem from Black Eye at 152 boxing Cody Houghton from Lakeview. If Cody were a bit heavier, the outcome may have been much different but Cody boxed well & certainly never gave up an inch. Sal showed some good improvement. The third bout had Damien Jean from Old School in Hamilton very busy with Loyalist, Belleville's Troy Trumble who came to rumble! Troy threw some very nice countering punches & Damien guided himself with his cool calm presence. This bout had a one point difference for the win. The fourth bout had the ladies, Janneka Vesterveld from Lakeview in Goderich against Mean Minka Velagic & the name was well suited. These gals were out for the win. Again a one point difference but well matched bout. The fifth bout had Jordan Burns from Loyalist in Belleville boxing the game Daulton Van Every from Wolves Den in Hagersville. They were bloodied from the nose down & messy but not willing to stop. Good heart! The sixth bout had that charging Shawn Murray from Destiny in Kitchener battling Kyle Millette from Ring London. Kyle did not box his usual style & Murray stayed in close taking away from Kyle the use of the full ring. Good strategy. The 7th bout featured Jassem Jassem from Black Eye against Phays in Cambridge, Dave Ribeiro. Dave is tough & can box anyone but the height of Jassem & his long reach played havoc on Dave. The Main event featured Jorge Costa in the 190 bout from Ring London against Tyler Steele from Old School in Hamilton. What a bout! Good battle & only one round was the deciding factor. Rematch guys? Good night & thanks to the officials & Dr. Joe Falletta for their great work. Glover Dave Aucoin was great, announcer had a hard time with the microphone...time for a new microphone, Mr. Legion....the canteen was busy & the ladies on the front door were as usual, very good. See you next show. T |
