Friday Sept. 18, 2009 Black Eye Brantford Scores Again!

What an great night. The Brantford residents are very lucky to be able to attend such great shows at too cheap an entry fee. We keep telling Bill Williams to raise those rates. Many people are paying $35.00 to see fights of the calibre that the Black Eye team presents.

Andrew Sztricsko from the hometown club opened the night with an exhibition bout against Alex Vodden from Lakeview in Goderich. The 150 lbers showed some good skills as they entertained the crowd.

The 2nd match was Derek Charbonneau from Charbs in Hanover in the 140 lbs class against Brian Terreberry from Blands in Fort Erie. There was a lot of leather thrown by both boxers.

The 3rd match was hometown's Josh Murtland against Todd Charlton from River City in Sarnia. Charlton is known as a good hitter but Josh pulled one out of the bag here.

The 4th bout had Ryan 'The Tank' Calhoun from Boomerz in London in the 140 lb division against Evan Jurmain from Hamilton. Calhoun is a good hitter & relentless. Evan depends on his long reach & nice straight punches.

The 5th bout featured Rough House's Daryl Pinter in the 147 lb match against Lakeview's Brandon Bridges. This was a tough match. Both guys are good hitters & they come to fight. Neither wants to give an inch.

The 6th bout had Troy Trumble from Loyalist in Belleville against Nevin Deshpande from TNT's Guelph. Good bout. Lots of action & very close scoring.

The 7th bout featured hometown's Sean Cosgrove at 155 lbs against Jeremy Abbott from Boone's in Niagara Falls. This bout was good. Sean is showing some good skills & strength & Jeremy is always a gladiator. Good - very good bout guys.

The 8th bout had TNT's Cole Jancsar from Guelph in the 180 lbs division against Boone's in Niagara Falls' Garrett Rollins. Cole is known as a good hitter & Garrett is quiet but with some nice moves. Fair match.

The 9th & final fight of the night featured hometown's Darren Fletcher at 161 lbs against Boomerz' Jeremy Masterson from London. This bout should have been a draw. It was that close on points. Each boxer waited with anticipation for the decision. This bout had both fellas fighting with all their skill & ability. Terrific.
